Description: Mural monument in the Church of St Margaret of Antioch, Felbrigg, Norfolk, to w:Ashe Windham (1673-1749), of Felbrigg Hall, MP, who married a wealthy heiress, Elizabeth Dobyns, the daughter and heiress of William Dobyns of Lincoln's Inn. By his wife he had a son William Windham. The marriage was not sucessful and the couple quarelled and eventually parted, Elizabeth Dobyns being accused of being prone to "hystericks and whimsies" (Ketton-Cremer, R W, Felbrigg, The Story of a House, 1986 edition (first published 1962), p.90). Arms: Azure, a chevron between three lion's heads erased or (Windham) impaling: Argent, a chevron between three annulets gules (Dobyns) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.289 "Dobyns of Lincoln's Inn") here apparently Azure, a chevron between three annulets or, given by Burke as "Dobyns of Herefordshire"
