Description: Sydney Mail train crossing Swanson's Bridge on the Toowoomba Range, ca. 1910. The carriage nearest the engine is a travelling post office, a regular vehicle on the Sydney Mail train. Swanson was a sub-contractor on the range railway construction in the 1860s. The bridge is located 96 ¾ miles between Ballard and Harlaxton. The postcard is number 1690 in a series printed in various countries. This sample was printed in Saxony. (Description supplied with photograph.).
