Description: Contemporary, 7th century statue of Egyptian pharaoh Psamtik from the Hieropolis Archeology Museum in Pamukkale, Turkey. Statue was originally found in Kale. The inscription is written in Ionian Greek and reads, "Pedon son of Amphimeos set me up as a votive, having brought [me] back from Egypt; and to him Psammetichos, king of Egypt, gave as prizes a golden armlet and a city on account of his valor."
