Description: A serendipitous image taken from a bathroom window of the stunning Pumphouse Point Hotel in the middle of Lake St Clair in the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania, Australia. I woke early and was intent upon capturing the misty dawn over the "flume" that connects the 1940s Pumphouse (now a hotel) to the shore of the lake. This Welcome Swallow (Hirundo neoxena) is a species native to Australia and few by as it gathered insects over the hauntingly still lake, making my already stunning picture absolutely amazing. We were some of the first guests to this magicical new hotel perched out on this ancient glacial lake.
