In 2022 Cadw is certainly not a pro-Welsh organization and has allowed Prince Owain's main home here at Sycharth to be erroded. There are two information boards, and neither of them mention that Owain was a Prince of Wales! Several trees have allso been allowed to grow, their roots digging deep into this historic site. The motte and bailey castle has a large ditched motte (castle) mound which measures 50m in diameter and 10.6m high and a 26m diameter summit. The bailey is 64m across and 32m deep, on the south-west side.
