Description: in 1904, Monarch and Montana - two captive California grizzly bears had twin cubs; however, the cubs weighed "only 14 ounces" (possibly because they were premature), One cub was crushed when it was a day old; the other was injured after several days, and died after three days of veterinary care. It was subsequently taxidermied.
