Description: The Prince-Bishopric of Passau (Evêché de Passau on the map) was an ecclesiastical principality that existed for centuries until 1803 when the prince-bishop lost its temporal powers. It should not be confused with the Diocese of Passau, which was considerably larger and extended into Austria. Cropped from a map of the Circle of Bavaria published by Robert de Vaugondy circa 1760.
