Description: Kaeng khiaowan kai (Thai script: แกงเขียวหวานไก่) is Thai green curry with chicken. It is sometimes served with roti (fried Indian style flat bread) as seen here on this photo. Very popular is to see it served with khanom chin (Thai script: ขนมจีน) which are freshly made Thai rice noodles. It is often also eaten as a dish with steamed (white) rice. This particular green curry was made, in addition to sliced chicken breast, with shredded kaffir lime leaves (bai makrut), yardlong beans, quartered Thai eggplant (makhuea pro) and pea-sized eggplant (makhuea phuang), and garnished with holy basil (bai kraphao) and sliced large red chillies for colour.
