Pen & ink over pencil, with traces of ruled border in pencil, coloured with watercolour and touches of gouache.The Governor Simcoe was intercepted by the Americans off Kingston (Ontario) on November 10, 1812. The small schooner escaped over the Seven Acre Shoal through which the Americans vessels were too deep to follow.
