Description: "The Bostonians in Distress," Satirical drawing of the plight of the citizens of Boston, Massachusetts, during the closing of the Port of Boston in 1774. Illustration shows the English artillery aimed at the city by British General Thomas Gage, in an effort to cut the city off and starve its inhabitants. Psalm 107.6 of the Bible is written on a paper held by the standing captive which reads "They cried unto the Lord in their Trouble & he saved them out of their Distress"
