Description: During routine re-development work a Romancaldarium, steam bath, was excavated. This well preserved semi-circular bath has steps at both ends and a nearby plunge pool. Tiles show actual footprint indentations and also an insignia of a Roman legion; believed to be that of the famous 9th legion, who founded Roman Eboracum in AD71.
