Description: The Jerome Sisters : Jennie (1854-1921), Clara (1851-1935) and Leonie (1859-1943). These three wealthy young Americans arrive in England at the end of the 19th century in search of good match in big families. Social ascension, success, disappointments are all experiences that they will go through together. Their father, Leonard Walter Jerome (1817-1891), is a descendant of Timothy Jerome, a French Huguenot immigrant who arrived in the New York Colony in 1717. Leonard Jerome, a Wall Street speculator, built a mansion on Madison Avenue and a villa in Newport, Rhode Island. Her spouse is Clarissa Hall (1825-1895). Jennie Jerome married Lord Randolph Spencer-Churchill, younger son of the Duke of Marlborough and was the mother of Winston Churchill. Clara Jerome married Moreton Frewen, an English adventurer who was at one time a cattle rancher in Wyoming, and later became a Member of Parliament. He was nicknamed Mortal Ruin by some of his family members, because he had an unfortunate streak of bad luck with his investments. Leonie Blanche Jerome married Sir John Leslie, 2nd Baronet, a member of an important Anglo-Irish family.
