Description: The Type Archive was an extensive collection of equipment across the United Kingdom's history of metal typecasting and wood type used for relief printing. This included a significant number of machines from the Monotype production operation in Salfords moved to the Archive when Monotype closed down its plant. In this photo, a number of hot-metal Monotype casters are shown in storage.
