Description: The late lamented Theatre Royal on Hawkins Street in Dublin. Thanks to swordscookie for this information on the monument in the foreground: "Monument to Constable Jeremiah Sheehan, 6' 4" tall of the DMP who went down into a drain at this point to rescue some council workmen who had been overcome with sewer gas and lost his own life!" Niall McAuley contributed this brilliant link outlining the long history of the Theatre Royal "including the programme of the final show, the "Royale Finale", which was on Saturday 30th of June at 8pm, just three months after this photo."
