Description: Portrait of Thomas Fanshawe (remembrancer of the exchequer) by Marcus Gheeraerts the younger. Fanshawe (1533-1601) became the Queen’s Remembrancer in October 1568. He was often said to have laid the groundwork for the financial successes of the Fanshawe family. Portrait painted circa 1590. Oil on wood, 89 cm x 73 cm.
