Description: In this the anniversary of the 1916 Rising here is one of the leaders who was executed in Kilmainham Gaol. While we confessed to knowing very little about McDonagh personally, [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet],[/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley] and [/photos/47297387@N03/ Carol Maddock] pointed us to a trove of information on the poet, activist and revolutionary - who would be executed within a year of this image. A special thanks to [/photos/91549360@N03/ O Mac] whose eagle-eyes and memory confirmed that this image is an extract/crop of another Keogh shot - of the funeral committee that McDonagh had a significant role in. This confirmation allows us to refine the date and map the image....
