Description: May 12th, 2024 11:00AM High of 83 degrees Fahrenheit Low of 62 degrees Fahrenheit 73 degrees Fahrenheit at capture Tick and periodical cicadas were out in full force this morning on a rocky, south-facing, wooded hillside in Missouri. As the sun began to hit the hillside itself, I saw several racers out sunning. Under rocks in the sun I saw a few fossorial snakes. Towards the end of my treck, I spotted this small snake stretched out under a ledge. The ledge itself was partly in the sun, but the snake was shaded. After photos it was left to continue thermoregulating.
