Description: Time course imaging of two maize inbreds (LH198 and PHG47) and the F1 hybrid (LH198/PHG47) generated by crossing the two together. For the purposes of generating this GIF, days with missing data were replaced with the image from the day previous to the gap. Kernels were planted on October 2nd, 2015. Plants were grown in a greenhouse with supplemental lighting provided by LED lights with light provided from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day (i.e. a minimum 14 hour photoperiod). Plants were imaged once per day starting on October 10th (seven days after planting). Plants were grown until November 9th at which point the experiment was terminated and plants were destructively phenotyped for ground truth measurements. All of images of plants started to be taken on 10-10-2015 and only on day time. Each plant was grown in a 1.5 gallon pot with fafard germination mix with one cup of Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 and 1 tablespoon of Micromax Micronutrients added per cubic foot of soil. Plants were weighed once per day and watered back to a total weight (carrier, pot, soil, plant, and water) of 5,4000 grams. On the last two days of the experiment water was increased to a target weight of 5,500 grams. Greenhouse temperature was maintained between 75 and 79 degrees fahrenheit throughout the experiment.
