Description: Today in Toronto our Conservative family and the Filipino-Canadian community said goodbye to Senator Tobias Enverga. His unstoppable optimism and sunny personality will surely be missed by all of us. He was the kind of person who could make anybody feel welcome and valued. Always a trailblazer, he was the first Filipino-Canadian Senator and the was the Filipino-Canadian to win election to any office in the City of Toronto and as the first visible minority to win election to the Toronto Catholic School Board. His commitment to his community, his country, and to Canada’s diversity and pluralism will be deeply missed by his many friends in the Senate and in the House of Commons. Today I offered my sincerest condolences to his family, wife Rosemer and their three children Rystle, Reeza and Rocel on behalf of the Official Opposition and our Conservative caucus. May his memory long be a blessing to those who loved him.
