Thayer at the 2013 All-Star Salute to the Oregon Military, held at the Governor Hotel in Portland, Oregon, April 20. The event was part of a two-year, $6.5 million capital campaign fundraiser for the Oregon Military Museum at Camp Withycombe, in Clackamas, Oregon. The museum will be named in honor of James Thayer, a World War II veteran who helped liberate a concentration camp in the waning days of WWII. (Photo by Sgt.
