Description: Córdoba, Convent of Santa Clara. View on Calle Osio (looking S-W), seen from Calle del Rey Heredia. This tower used to be the minaret of the mosque that was taken over and transformed into a convent (1256) only 20 years after Cordoba was reconquered by the troops of Ferdinand III of Castile (1236). This minaret escaped demolition: it was transformed into a belltower. It was listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural in 1931.
