Description: Trig point on Fforest Fach This little-visited summit affords grand views towards the larger hills. Pen y Fan and Corn Du are easily recognised in the distance. The summit plateaux of Fforest Fach, Cefn Llechid and Mynydd Illtud are all on a level between 350 and 400m, suspended between the lowlands of the Usk valley and the high tops of Fforest Fawr. each is formed from the relatively soft mudstones of the St. Maughans Formation - the odd resistant sandstone beds within this formation give rise to steps in the landscape.
