Description: A landscape sketch, ink, sepia wash on cardboard, of the scene at Saratoga, New York that was the site of General John Burgoyne's surrender in 1777. This sketch was made in anticipation of Trumbull's painting Surrender of General Burgoyne in the 1820s.
