Description: The U.S. Navy amphibious force command ship USS Catoctin (AGC-5) at anchor on 22 August 1944, shortly after the landings in southern France. Catoctin was force flagship for that operation, and operated off the invasion beaches between 15 August and 15 September 1944. Note the SK-1 air search radar.
