Description: Picture of Ruth Asawa's wire sculpture Untitled (S.449, Hanging Three Lobed Form with Stripes and Two Interior Spheres) (c. 1958) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in 2022. A hanging sculpture composed of enameled copper and iron wire, woven into three large bulbous shapes connected vertically with thin woven tubes. The two lower forms each contain a sphere composed of the same woven wire; the inner spheres appear to be floating within the outer forms. The light in the gallery casts a shadow onto the wall, which appears nearly identical in color and shade to the sculpture itself.
