Image: Utility pole transformers
Description: A 'transformer bank' on a utility pole, a common way of providing three-phase power to customers in North America. It consists of three single-phase distribution transformers connected to act as a three-phase transformer, to provide three-phase power at secondary voltages to commercial customers. The primaries of the transformers are connected in a "Y" configuration, with one side of each winding connected to the primary phase wires (top) through fused cutouts and the other sides connected together and grounded.
