Description: William Rankin Ballard, early Seattle, Washington area developer, also associated with the development of the area's streetcars. With Thomas Burke and John Leary, he purchased 700 acres of land around Salmon Bay; the resulting city of Ballard was annexed by Seattle in 1907.
