Description: Cabinet on stand German, about 1580 Pine carcase, and marquetry on coloured woods The everyday scenes on the main body of the cabinet are probably based on illustrations by the prolific engraver and painter Jost Amman (1539-1591). The base was probably made up with the original doors, some time before 1850. They were most likely derived from marquetry designs of Lorenz Stoer (active 1555-1620), published in 1567 and similar to doors of a cabinet, now in the Brooklyn Museum, New York. 4250-1858.
