Description: On April 20 1960, New Zealand Prime Minister Walter Nash held talks with USSR leader Nikita Khrushchev. The meeting took place on the Black Sea resort of Gagra, which is in now modern day Georgia. During the talks Nash and Khrushchev discussed nuclear disarmament and the future of Germany. Walter Nash was Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1957 to 1960. After defeat in the 1960 election Nash remained MP for Hutt until his death in 1968. Nikita Khrushchev was leader of the USSR from 1953 to 1964, as First Secretary of the Communist Party. This image is from the Walter Nash Papers.
