Description: An illustration of one side of the seal of Walter fitz Alan. The seal reads "SIGILLUM WALTERI FILLI ALANI DAPIFERI REG.". The seal was appended to a charter by Walter, of the lands of Mauchline, in Kyle, to the Abbey of Melrose; circa 1170 (see source below, page 126, #769, #770).
