Description: The arms were first granted on May 23, 1950, but they have been used since 1947. The were last revised on December 16, 1960. The arms are canting, showing a wolf on a castle (Burg) and remember on Wolsburg castle as well, known since 1135. The waves in the base stand for the Aller river and the gules shield remembers on the former village of Rothehof-Rothenfelde, one of the oldest parts of the city.
