Description: Warwick Old Gaol The county gaol was originally established here in 1676 although this building dates back to 1779. It is an early example of the use of the Doric style in public buildings. The gaol was moved to the Cape in 1860 and the building became a barracks for the militia. In 1932 it changed use again, this time as County Council offices. An old prison door has been set in to the wall close to the corner of the building, just to the right of the no entry sign to commemorate the building's former use. A 257408 provides a public reminder.
