Description: Water pumping station by the River Esk Constructed during World War I to provide water for a huge new munitions factory. The complex of works and housing stretched 9 miles, from Dornock in the west to Mossband near Longtown in the east. The pumping station had three electric pumps, each capable of discharging 5 million gallons of water a day.
