Description: w:National Register of Historic Places listings in Northeast Portland, Oregon. West Ankeny Car Barns, 2706 NE Couch St., Portland, OR. Photographed October 25, 2009 from the south side of East Burnside St. between NE 28th and NE 26th Ave. This was the back of the building; the streetcar tracks came out of the building's north side, onto Couch Street. This is one of three buildings which together comprised the Ankeny Car Barns (a word now commonly spelled "carbarns") of Portland's streetcar system. The others were located on the opposite side of 28th Avenue (the east side of 28th).
