Description: Coat of arms of Westmorland County Council. Obsolete since 1974. In modern times, the two red bars were incorporated into the arms of the traditional county of Westmorland, as a representation of the Kendal half of that county. The apple tree represents Appleby, or Northern Westmorland.[1]
