Description: "Walt Whitman Neighborhood" as listed by the NRHP since January 20, 1978. At 326-332 Mickle St. (generally known as Martin Luther King Drive) in Camden, New Jersey. This name is something of an artifact of the NRHP. The wooden house in the middle is the NRHP site the "Walt Whitman House" the only house Walt ever owned. The house on the left is part of the newer NRHP site, and the house on the right behind the tree is as well, and perhaps another house (or is it a small addition?) to its right. Not sure whether Walt's house is part of the "neighborhood." Even if it were, the whole neighborhood is smaller than a medium sized house - which is perhaps why this site is not listed as a "historic district." In any case the photo is needed for the list of NRHPs in Camden County, New Jersey. The 3 story brick building on the left (330 Mickle St.) was the home of architect Stephen Decatur Button
