Description: William Richard Cotter VC (March 1882 – 14 March 1916), a British soldier of the First World War. Acting Corporal in the 6th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), he was awarded the Victoria Cross for an action on 6 March 1916 near Hohenzollern Redoubt, France. He died of the wounds he received in the action.
