Description: This is a watercolour of a 16th century English philanthropist called William Lambe. It was painted in 1851 by John Wykeham Archer at a time when the bust was located in in the Chapel of the Clothworkers' Almshouses, Cripplegate, London. The bust is currently displayed in the West wall of St James' Church, Islington (see Wikipedia entry).
