Description: It was pretty overcast most of the day, and windy as all get out. The kind of wind that sucks the snot straight out of your nose. I almost didn't bother going out given these conditions, but I ate so much chinese food the night before I had to get up and move around. So off I went. The day started poorly, as I saw nothing, which is what I was expecting. But while staring across the pond at some skittish widgeons, I thought I saw a stumpy shorebird walk into the reeds in my peripheral vision. So I hustled back around to see if I could get a closer look at whatever it was, but it was gone. So I figured I'd take a seat in the seat in the mud and see if anything came out. The first thing that did was the sun, which was a good omen, as after 15 minutes of waiting this dude bobbed his way out of the vegetation and started probing the mud right in front of me for a good half hour. I'd seen these guy before but never this close. MORAL OF THE STORY: Eat a lot of chinese food and all your dreams will come true.
