Description: Charles Francis Annesley Voysey (British, 1857-1941): Broad Leys House, 1898, Ghyll Head, Windermere, Cumbria, headquarters of the Windermere Motor Boat Racing Club (WMBRC founded in 1925). Broad Leys was originally built for the owners of Kendal Milne Department Store in Manchester. In 1951 it was acquired by WMBRC and became the home of powerboat racings on lake Windermere until the introduction of a 10mph speed limit in 2005.
