Description: Gov. Scott Walker, U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and senior Wisconsin National Guard leaders joined families and friends in welcoming approximately 65 Soldiers back to Wisconsin following a historic deployment as a Division Multi-Component Unit with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division to Iraq and Kuwait. This was the first Army initiative to integrate National Guard and Reserve Soldiers into a single multi-component unit alongside active-duty Soldiers. During the deployment the 101st assumed the role of Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command-Iraq for Operation Inherent Resolve, providing command and control of coalition troops training, advising and assisting Iraqi Security Forces.
