Description: Danny Danon, Israel's Ambassador to the UN, lit the one of the candles on the world’s largest Hanukkah menorah in New York City on December 29, 2016, the sixth night of the eight-day holiday. The 36 foot, 4,000 pound menorah organized by Chabad-Lubavitch, was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest in the world. The nightly Hanukkah celebration has taken place at Fifth Avenue and Fifty-Ninth Street since 1977. The annual event is part of a worldwide Hanukkah campaign to raise awareness and observance of the Jewish festival, set into motion by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, in 1973 Credit: Chaim Perl / Chabad.org This photograph is being made available only for publication by news organizations for use in reporting on the events captured in the photo.
