Description: This photograph was taken by me at the Vitthala temple complex in Hampi, a UNESCO world heritage site in the Bellary district, Karnataka state, India. The Vitthala temple took about a hundred years to complete. Its construction was started during the rule of Vijayanagara King Deva Raya II (1426-1446 AD) and completed during the reign of King Achyuta Raya (1529-1542 AD)
