The Isla de San Martín (which means Island of San Martín in English) is a small island in Argentina. It is found in the Iguazu River, right within the amazing Iguazu Falls in Misiones Province. This island is a special part of the famous waterfalls.
Visiting San Martín Island
This island is unique because it stretches across all three levels of the Iguazu Falls. However, only the lower and middle parts of the island are open for visitors to explore.
To reach the island, you usually need to take a small boat. This is the only way to get there, unless the river water level is very low. Once you arrive, you can climb 190 steps. These steps lead you along three different paths. At the top, you'll find a balcony that offers incredible views of the waterfalls all around you.
Animal Life on the Island
Isla de San Martín is home to many vultures. These large birds are often seen flying above the island and the waterfalls. They are an important part of the island's wildlife.
