Ivana Andrés Sanz (born on July 13, 1994) is a Spanish professional footballer. She plays as a centre back (a defender) for the Serie A club Inter Milan. She also plays for the Spain national team.

Ivana Andrés's Football Journey
Starting Out: Youth Clubs
Ivana Andrés started playing football in her hometown of Aielo de Malferit. She joined her local club, Aielo CF. When she was 12, she moved to the DSV Colegio Alemán school in 2007. Here, she played for the C and B teams. By 2009, she joined the first team of Valencia CF. This team was already playing in the top Spanish league, the First Division.
Playing for Valencia
In 2009, Valencia CF made an agreement with her club. This meant her team became the women's football section of the famous Valencia CF. Ivana played for Valencia for nine years. During this time, her team reached the final of the 2015 Copa de la Reina (Queen's Cup). They surprised everyone by beating FC Barcelona 1-0 in the semi-final. However, they lost 2-1 to Sporting de Huelva in the final. In the 2016/17 season, Valencia finished third in the league. This was their best result ever. In her last years at Valencia, Ivana Andrés was the team's captain.
Moving to Levante
After many years at Valencia, where she was captain, Ivana made a surprising move. She joined Levante UD, a rival team from the same city. She played for Levante for two seasons. Her team finished third in the Spanish championship both times. The top teams then were FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
Joining Real Madrid
In the summer of 2020, Ivana signed with Real Madrid. This was a new women's football section for the club. She was named team captain in her very first season. In 2024, Ivana scored an important goal for Real Madrid. She scored the tying goal in the 91st minute against Madrid CFF. Her team then went on to win the game 2-1.
Playing for Inter Milan
After her time at Real Madrid, Ivana Andrés joined Inter Milan in 2024. She continues her professional career in Italy.
Ivana Andrés's International Career
Playing for Spain's Youth Teams
Ivana Andrés played for Spain's national youth teams. As an under-17 player, she took part in the 2010 U-17 World Cup. Her team finished in third place. She played in all six matches during that tournament. She also won first place in the 2010 U-17 European Championship. They beat the Republic of Ireland in the final. The next year, she played in the European Championship again with the U17s. They won the gold medal by beating France 1-0 in the final. Ivana played in both the semi-final and the final.
With the U-19 national team, she reached the final of the 2012 European Championship. They lost in the final after extra time to Sweden.
Playing for Spain's Senior Team
Ivana Andrés first played for Spain's senior national team on February 11, 2015. This was a friendly match against Belgium. In the same year, she was chosen for the 2015 World Cup squad. However, she did not play in any games during that tournament.
She won her first title with the national team at the 2017 Algarve Cup. Spain won 1-0 against Canada in the final. Ivana Andrés played in all four games. She missed the 2017 European Championship because of a broken collarbone. At the 2019 World Cup, she was again part of the team but did not play.
Ivana Andrés achieved a huge success with her team at the 2023 World Cup. They won first place, becoming world champions!
