She was also the granddaughter of Barbe de Nettine, who was a well-known person. Joséphine's brother, Edouard de Walckiers, worked in the government's money department. This shows her family was quite influential.

Joséphine was a gifted musician and composer. She wrote many pieces of music during her life.

Published Music

One of her important works was a collection of four romances. These were songs with music for a fortepiano, an early type of piano. The collection was called Quatre romances avec accompt. de forte-piano, premier recueil. A company named Aubert published these songs in Paris. Today, you can find a copy of this music in a special library in Regensburg, Germany.

Stage Works

Joséphine also composed music for the stage. She wrote the music for an opéra-comique called Borée et Flore. An opéra-comique is a type of opera that includes spoken dialogue. This particular work had three acts. It was performed in 1784 at the famous Théàtre de la Monnaie in Brussels.

She also created a divertissement chanté, which means a sung entertainment. The exact title of this work is not known. It was performed in 1788 at the Théàtre de Schaerbeek in Brussels.
