Juan García y Margallo was a Spanish general and an important leader in the city of Melilla. He was born on July 12, 1839, and sadly passed away on October 28, 1893. He is well-known because he was a general who led Spanish forces during a conflict called the Rif War in 1893. This war is sometimes even called the Margallo War because of his role in it. Juan García Margallo is also the great-grandfather of José Manuel García-Margallo, who was a Spanish diplomat and a former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
