Kola Román is a popular soft drink from Colombia. It was first created in the city of Cartagena, Colombia way back in 1865 by a person named Don Carlos Román. When it was first made, it tasted a bit like a "champagne soda." This means it was a bubbly drink, possibly with a light, fruity flavor.

Later, in the early 1900s, Don Henrique Pio Román changed the recipe. He made it into the drink we know today.

About Kola Román

Kola Román is made and bottled by a company called Panamco FEMSA Colombia. You can often see their name on the bottle. This drink is especially loved in the Caribbean part of Colombia. It is also one of the oldest sodas still being sold anywhere in the world!

Kola Román and Sports

Kola Román has also supported sports teams. It has sponsored several baseball teams in the Colombian Professional Baseball League. One of the first teams it sponsored was based in Cartagena. This team even won a championship in the 1956–57 season!

In the 1990s, Kola Román also sponsored a team called the Vaqueros de Montería. This shows how the drink has been a part of Colombian culture and sports for many years.
