Liliana Palaia Pérez (born 1951) is an architect and painter. She was born in Argentina but now lives and works in Valencia, Spain.

Her Life and Education

Liliana Palaia Pérez studied architecture at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. She earned her degree in 1974.

In May 1975, she moved to Valencia, Spain, to be with her family. There, she became a qualified architect at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Valencia (ETSAV). She continued her studies at ETSAV, earning her doctorate in 1982. Her special research project (called a thesis) was about the Central Market of Valencia and how it affected city life.

Teaching Career

In 1978, Liliana Palaia Pérez started teaching at ETSAV in the Construction Department. She became a full-time professor in 1984. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 1986 and then to Full Professor in 2000. She taught at the university until she retired in 2012.

Special Training

In 1984, she took a special course in Norway. This course focused on how to preserve old wooden buildings.

From 1987 to 1989, she went to England to study at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. She earned a diploma in historic building conservation. Her research there was about how to repair arches, vaults, and domes in old buildings. Later, from 1998 to 2000, she researched how roofs were built in historical buildings in the Valencian Community.

Liliana also worked as an architect on her own from 1978 to 1984. After that, she focused mainly on her teaching and research at the university.
