Marco Leonel Domínguez Ramírez (born on February 25, 1996) is a professional football player. He plays as a midfielder for Comunicaciones, a club in Guatemala's top league. Marco was born in Canada, but he plays for the Guatemala national team.

Early Life and Training
Marco Domínguez was born in Montréal, Canada. He started playing football at a young age. For six years, he played for a youth team called Braves d'Ahuntsic. He also trained with the Soccer Québec High Performance Program. In 2013, he joined the Montreal Impact Academy, which is a special training program for young players. He even got a scholarship from the Impact academy in October 2024. In January 2016, he trained for a short time with the youth team of an Italian club called Bologna.
Club Career Highlights
Starting with FC Montreal
In March 2015, Marco signed his first professional contract. He joined FC Montreal, which was the second team for the Montreal Impact. This team played in the USL league. He played his first professional game on May 14, 2015. In 2016, he trained with the main Montreal Impact team before the season started.
Playing for FC Cincinnati
In January 2017, Marco joined FC Cincinnati, another team in the USL. After the 2017 season, FC Cincinnati decided not to keep him for the next year.
Time with Antigua
In May 2018, Domínguez signed with Antigua, a team in Guatemala's top football league, the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala. He helped the club win the 2019 Clausura championship.
Loan to Al-Yarmouk
In January 2022, Marco went on loan to Al-Yarmouk in the Kuwaiti Premier League. A loan means he played for them for a short time before returning to his main club.
Back to Antigua
In May 2022, his loan ended, and he returned to play for Antigua.
Moving to Mixco
In January 2023, Marco moved to another team in Guatemala's first division, Mixco.
Joining Municipal
In May 2023, he signed with Municipal, also in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala. He left the club in June 2024.
Playing for Pacific FC
In June 2024, Marco signed with Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League. He played his first game for them on July 14. At the end of the 2024 season, he and the club agreed to end his contract early.
Current Club: Comunicaciones
In December 2024, Marco signed with Comunicaciones, a club in Guatemala's top league, for the 2025 season.
International Career
Marco Domínguez has a unique background. His mother is from the Dominican Republic, and his father is from Guatemala. He was born in Canada.
In 2013, he was chosen to play for the Canada U17 team. He played in the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship and the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup. On April 6, 2013, he scored a goal against Trinidad and Tobago's U17 team. In March 2016, he was called up to play for the Canadian U20 team.
In January 2020, FIFA (the world football organization) approved his request to switch which country he represents. This allowed him to play for the Guatemala national team.
Personal Life
Marco Domínguez has a child. He chose to move to Pacific FC in Canada from Guatemala to give his family a calmer, safer place to live.
